New Research: H5N1 influenza virus induces PD-relevant neurodegeneration

Dr. Richard Smeyne of St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital talks to Dr. Kirsten Carlson of MJFF about his new findings indicating that the pandemic H5N1 influenza virus, commonly known as avian flu, can induce characteristics of PD-relevant neurodegeneration in a pre-clinical model.
