Dr. Brian Fiske earned his undergraduate degree in cellular and molecular biology from Texas A&M University and his PhD in Neuroscience from the University of Virginia, where his research interests focused on the role of sensory experience in early postnatal brain development. After a brief postdoctoral fellowship at Columbia University (and a move to the big city), Brian found a new calling as an editor for the scientific journal Nature Neuroscience, where he helped evaluate and review a wide range of cutting-edge scientific research. In 2004, he moved from publishing science to funding it: he now works at The Michael J.
